The handlers of the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate at the
concluded Osun governorship election, Iyiola Omisore’s campaign could be
partly blamed for his loss. They shouldn’t have forced those corns in
his hands and mounted him on motor bike. You can’t force yourself to be
identified with the grassroots if you think you’re already gentrified.
Strategic copycatism should be avoided and politicians should identify
their leverage instead of aping someone else. Governor Rauf Aregbesola,
as he said, is from the street, where he was identified with..
